Went to look for firewood. They didn't have it or was too expensive. Can't remember but didn't buy.

Staff not too helpful or friendly to strangers. While at Service desk waiting to be served, another man comes up to the service desk and get served before I do. The woman behind the counter even talks to him, why because he's a regular. And I am a new customer not being treated at all very nicely or immediately once she was free.. so sad to see this mistreatment . I just don't understand why employees at this Home Hardware would treat new customers this way. Do they not realize there are so many other hardware stores that will take my business. I guess they are only satisfied with their regular customers and that's all they need. Or else maybe they don't know how to handle any more new customers. ?

Well stocked shelves. Good sales. Tidy store. These folks know their stuff and if one doesn't they aren't afraid to ask a coworker for a hand. They are a great bunch.

Very friendly (as always) and totally prepared for servicing customers during the COVID-19 pandemic. The entry line to the store was expertly handled and with a warmth and friendliness I've come to expect and appreciate in PEC.I was also very happy to see the protection devices (face shields, masks, floor indicators, and plexiglass shields) in place and fully functional to protect your staff and customers.On that note a special thank you to the staff at Picton Home Hardware for your dedication and hard work. I was easily able to find everything I needed and when I had questions you quickly gave me answers and guidance. A big shout out to the ordering desk, paint service clerks (especially Noah - tremendously awesome service!) front cashiers, and lumber yard staff for your positive attitude and professionalism. I can only imagine the past few months have been difficult dealing with shortages and customer needs. Thank you!

Have what I need all the time

I run a plumbing company and it’s my go to parts store for the county. Friendly and knowledgeable!!

They never disappoint. Very knowledgeable too.

We were there looking for lumber (simple pine would do) as shelves for our cottage shed. The associate sold us pressure-treated cedar and told us that was the only way to go. We only found out we were quoted/given 2" thick cedar as shelves after we paid for the bill and the wood was cut. Who uses 2" thick cedar as shelves? The associate also over-sold us way too many screws. The total bill for two 40-inch shelves came up to be a whopping $65! We went into the store for advice and were clearly taken advantage of. The 2" thick cedar was completely useless to us. It was so heavy that the brackets could barely hold its own weight. We later on went to Home Depot and picked up a 8-feet pine for $10, which Home Depot cut to size for us for free!

Best run and stocked Home Hardware I have been to in a while.Well staffed, which is a rarity for big box stores these days. I was stunned when an employee actual came up and asked if I had found everything I needed, and if they could help.5 stars, will shop again.

Generally great service and good pricing. This home hardware had more than the usual with a good selection of tools and lumber and drywall. You get some millennial apathy service but in general it's not bad. The hardest part is the store hours are not at all convenient for any serious contractor. They close at 7pm week days and 5pm on Sunday.

George was extremely helpful and knowledgeable! He went above and beyond to provide good service. One of the girls behind the lumber desk however, has zero patience and a ton of terrible attitude. My husband needed help with purchasing materials for porch railings and she was very short, curt and completely useless. After numerous attempts to get meaningful help from her, he went ahead and purchased the wrong materials and had to return to the store to buy the correct items. He let her know about her attitude and unwillingness to help and she was completely unresponsive. People like her should NOT hold customer service roles.

My favourite place

Pretty damn good for a small town hardware store. I live in the area and while the prices can sometimes be a little higher than Cambodian Tire, the staff are very knowledgeable, helpful, and down to earth. Good selection of products and tools. Lumber yard guys are great, flagged some rebar for me when they didn't have to, just to be safe. Just a good store to shop at.

Great, friendly, knowledgeable staff. If they don't carry what you are looking for they will redirect you to the next best place to get it.

Ridiculously helpful... it almost feels like a TV hardware store where everybody asks if you need anything and ACTUALLY KNOW stuff when you DO ask!

Always helpful. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the awesome staff at the Picton Home Hardware store. Their "can do" attitude is so refreshing.

Rather large centre. Tons of goods and supplies. Definitely check it out as the lay out is a bit different from modern Home Hardwares. Staff are friendly and very helpful.

Really like HH, all the tools and the thousands of different fasteners,the lumber , it's the grown men's version of a circus! Great staff and the premises is always well kept and clean.
